Aldar Academies are currently seeking an Assistant Principal for Al Muna Academy commencing August 2019. 

This would be an ideal role for a strategic thinking individual with a firm grasp of how to ensure outstanding teaching and learning across the school. 

Candidates must be committed to working in partnership with the local community and developing ways to engage with parents and forge effective partnerships with them.


Main Responsibilities

  • Strategic direction and leadership of school improvement.
  • Provide inspiring and purposeful leadership for the staff, students and the wider community.
  • To develop a school improvement plan founded in a secure understanding of data and classroom observation.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the school and the quality of teaching and learning.
  • Continue to maintain an environment that promotes and secures outstanding teaching, effective learning, high standards of achievement and good behavior.
  • Develop and maintain effective links with the community including business and industry, to extend the curriculum and enhance teaching and learning.
  • Improve the existing system for the management of staff performance, incorporating target setting and individual development plans.
  • Continue to develop an organization in which all staff feel valued and recognize that they are accountable for the success of the school.


You will be/have: 

  • An outstanding classroom practitioner with a proven track record of raising attainment- in at least 2 years groups in lower (FS and KS1) or upper (KS2) school
  • An experienced and highly effective middle leader in a primary school setting 
  • An excellent understanding of the English National Curriculum and standards at the end of the relevant key stage
  • Experience of leading a subject/aspect across lower/upper/whole school with demonstrable impact 
  • A proven ability in supporting others (CAs and teachers) to improve their practice 
  • Experience of leading performance management for CAs and teachers
  • Experience of effectively mentoring/coaching staff
  • Ability to hold staff to account
  • Ability to manage sensitive and challenging situations 
  • Experience in managing data in in lower/upper/whole school and providing data summaries and be able to identify key patterns and trends 
  • Experience in leading the monitoring of teaching, environment and work outcomes 
  • Experience in gathering evidence of impact- through parent surveys, pupil interviews, staff surveys, data and other monitoring 
  • Experience of  managing whole school events 
  • Experience of leading large group assemblies and performances 
  • Significant experience of leading CPD, with evidenced and measurable impact 


Requirements: 

  • Bachelor in Education or Bachelor in any discipline with PGCE.
  • Minimum of 6 years of teaching with 3 years of leadership experience.
  • Business acumen 
  • Ability to establish positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders.

Muna British Academy opened in September 2009. Facilities at the school are excellent and include a large astro-turf field, outdoor swimming pool, well stocked library, a large multi-purpose hall and gym, a number of computer suites and outdoor play areas.

Muna British Academy is a very happy, purposeful place for children to learn. Children love coming to our school. We pride ourselves on the progress children make, the quality of relationships in the school and the ways that we ensure that children are safe and well cared for. Although we have almost 100 staff and over 700 pupils, visitors regularly comment on our family atmosphere and happy community feel.
