We are looking for a committed and dynamic Assistant Principal to join a thriving 11-18 Church of England academy at a pivotal moment in its development.

Bacon’s College is a thriving and oversubscribed school with a richly diverse student population. As a former City Technology College it has a long history of innovation and a track record of success. However, student achievement should be a lot higher than it currently is. We are seeking a person who will join a newly refocused leadership team and who is able to be part of the transformation needed to ensure that all our students succeed at the highest level.

You will be joining the College at a crucial time and will hold the key responsibility for leading the development of assessment and tracking systems that are fit for purpose and help teachers deliver high quality and differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all students. You will need to be an expert teacher and have the ability to work with colleagues and take them with you. It will be a challenging and rewarding role which will prepare you well for Headship.

Closing Date: Friday 12 noon on Friday 21 April

Interview dates: Week starting Monday 1 May

Candidates interested in the post are encouraged to contact the Principal, Chris Mallaband, for a confidential conversation.

Application packs are available here. Please contact Val Oughton, PA to the Principal if you have any questions or concerns: v.oughton@baconscollege.co.uk

In Spring 2018, Bacon’s College will be joining United Learning, a large, and growing, group of schools aiming to offer a life-changing education to children and young people across England.

Our schools work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. Our subject specialists, our Group-wide intranet, our own curriculum and our online learning portal all help us share knowledge and resource, helping to simplify work processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance.

As a Group, we can reward our staff better: with good career opportunities, better pay, benefits, and ultimately, the satisfaction of helping children to succeed. We invest in our staff wellbeing. Our academies each have at least eight INSET days per year (with three of those solely dedicated to planning), and an ongoing group-wide wellbeing programme. It's an ethos we call ‘the best in everyone’.

Please note that you are wholly responsible for fact checking in respect of the information provided by schools. Please also check for the latest visa and work permit requirements that may apply.
