We are currently looking for a senior leader at the academy. We are open to accepting applications from less experienced candidates who wish to develop into a senior leadership position or experienced professionals looking for a new challenge.

Trinity Sowerby Bridge is a new academy within the Trinity Multi-Academy Trust, transferring to the trust in January 2018.   The flagship academy, Trinity Academy Halifax is a model of excellence for the growing number of academies and free schools joining the trust. The team behind the success at Trinity are working to help those joining our trust to replicate their successes in improving the outcomes for children and young people.

Sowerby Bridge has a new leadership team in place, led by an Executive Principal.  Through robust, clear systems and support; we can ensure that teachers can focus on developing their teaching.  Our mantra of ‘Culture & Consistency = Excellence’ is something that we are proud of and all staff support us to maintain this philosophy.

Our leadership team has a relentless focus on creating a culture of high expectations and consistency, where students and staff are able to excel and we are currently looking for a dynamic, passionate and inspirational leader to join our senior leader team. As the Assistant Principal, Data you will provide strategic leadership of the direction, management and development of data management and its use across the academy.  

This Assistant Principal post offers the opportunity to join a growing Multi Academy Trust senior leader team, and as our leadership structures develop we intend to develop capacity in all areas of our improvement strategies. The postholder will have responsibility for outcomes in English and will have proven experience and expertise to lead this key area of the academy.  You will be expected to lead curriculum area by providing strategic direction as to what learning in the area will look like in the future; encouraging innovation and research and evaluating student performance, and leading on strategies that increase achievement.   

The successful candidate will be offered the opportunity to join the senior leadership team, as an associate senior leader. Aspirations and ambitions are high, and the trust’s outstanding leadership team will embed targeted and effective support, which is based on world class, proven systems.  The vision is to transform education at Sowerby Bridge, with the intention of providing an outstanding education to students; this presents a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate.  With the support from Trinity Academy this is a realistic and achievable goal, which has been shown through the results and outcomes of the flagship academy.

The Trinity MAT were first approached to work with the then Sowerby Bridge High School, when it had been graded as inadequate by Ofsted and had been ranked in the bottom 15% of all schools nationally.

After joining the MAT in 2018 the progress made has been outstanding. The academy has improved its Progress 8 outcome by 0.92 and the performance puts us comfortably in the top 1% of most improved schools in the country.

In September 2021 we will be adopting the new name of Trinity Academy Grammar to better communicate our identity, high standards and aspirations for our students. We have chosen a name which truly reflects our grammar school heritage, and to better showcase our core values of Empathy, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility, as we continue to build on this legacy through our outstanding achievements and passion to help our students reach their full potential.

It is a very exciting time to be considering joining Trinity Academy Grammar.  We can offer candidates the opportunity to work in partnership with the Principal and the senior leadership team, teachers in the school and other professionals across the trust (including the Teaching School and West Yorkshire Maths Hub).
