Assistant Principal – Exact responsibilities to be negotiated with the appointed candidate

L8-L12

Permanent, Full Time

Required from September 2019

We are genuinely delighted to offer this truly exceptional and rare opportunity for an inspirational and dedicated Assistant Principal to join our wonderful academy.

The specific areas of responsibility will be tailored to the strengths and interests of the candidate. We are looking for a candidate who understands that we are outcomes focussed and child centred; this really is a career defining opportunity for the right candidate.

The appointed candidate will be an exceptional teacher, most probably being able to offer a core, Ebacc subject. They will blend a track record of successful leadership experience as well as demonstrating that they have the capacity to manage a complex and wide-ranging remit. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a substantial portfolio and would be excellent preparation for further career progression in a few years’ time.

Visits to the academy are strongly recommended, although we appreciate that these are not always possible; particularly given the timescales involved for this rare and exceptional post.

Please contact Amy Platt Principal’s PA, on a.platt@northerneducationtrust.org  to book your visit. You can also request all of the relevant Recruitment Documentation by contacting this address.

The closing date for this post is Monday 20th May 2019. The likely interview date will be Wednesday 22nd May.

Please return your application at your earliest convenience.

Northern Education Trust, Kearsley Academy reserve the right to close this advert prior to the closing date above.

This academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. A criminal records bureau check will be undertaken for the successful applicant.

Welcome from the Principal

Welcome to the Northern Education Trust Kearsley Academy website. We hope you enjoy it and are able to gain a good understanding of our Academy and the vision and values that underpin all of the work that we do here at Kearsley Academy.

“We constantly focus on standards as we understand outcomes are paramount. Our decision making is driven entirely by what is best for children. By doing this we enhance the life chances of the children and young people in our care.”

Kearsley Academy is an inclusive school and values the contribution made by students, staff, Governors, parents and members of the local community. Our commitment to collaborative learning to achieve academic success that will lead to enhanced life chances for students can be summed up with the phrase ‘Outcomes Focused, Child Centered‘. We know that to students and parents, high quality qualifications and strong levels of support mean everything in continuing on in the next phase of further education, and the world of work and employment.

I know I speak for all students, staff and Governors when I say that we are incredibly proud of the hard work and achievements of all of our students – the most important people in our Academy. Our focus on learning is a driving force behind all that we do and students experience a rich and challenging curriculum, both inside and outside of the Academy, providing opportunities to continue to excel in the Academy and the wider community. Enrichment opportunities outside of the classroom allow students the chance to make new friends, and experience opportunities based on interest. We have regular clubs including sports, chess, music, drama and art, to name a few as well as trips and outings and charity events too.

Whether you are viewing our website as a potential or current student, or you are interested in joining us as a place of work or just to find out more about us, I am sure you will join me in my belief that Kearsley Academy is an excellent Academy. I feel very privileged to be the Principal here and I hope our website will help you to find out more about us.
