It is a vibrant and positive community where students are well supported to fulfil their potential and leave school successfully prepared for their next steps. Our vision of a happy, successful and aspirational community, both today and tomorrow is underpinned by our values of courtesy, commitment, conscientiousness and community-minded.

We aim for staff and students to embody our motto ‘Success is an Attitude” through setting the highest standards and aspirations for everyone. The happiness of our students is very important to us. Our College

The Chalfonts Community College converted to Academy status in 2011 and is a larger-than-average community academy with a roll of 1400 students. Our last Ofsted Inspection was carried out in November 2022 when the College was judged as ‘good’ overall. "There is a sense of pride, both in Chalfonts Community College and in the outcomes pupils achieve, that is shared between staff, governors and pupils."

Curriculum

Our curriculum is designed to:

  • Be rich and relevant and meet the needs, interests and aspirations of all students
  • Focus on raising the achievement for all students
  • Support students with the educational and career choices that they make at different ages
  • Develop the skills and attitudes required for students to succeed after leaving school and to become responsible and confident members of society.

With an A Level A*-B pass rate of 39% and an A*-E pass rate of 96%, plus a long-standing reputation for excellence in vocational courses, student destinations in the last two years have included a wide range of universities and further education establishments.

Extra Curricular Activities

At Chalfonts Community College we aim to ensure that the whole child is catered for with extra-curricular opportunities including theatre visits, music performances, sports clubs and teams and a wide range of other events. Our Performing Arts productions are renowned for their outstanding quality and our sports teams compete at local, regional and national levels. We recognise the importance of activities beyond the classroom in developing the experience, skills and personal attributes of our students, enabling them to be better prepared for applications to and success in, university and the world of work.

Pastoral Care

We understand the importance of keeping students safe, happy, and secure. Each of our students is assigned a personal tutor who remains with them through Years 7 to 11. In the Sixth Form personal tutors assist with university and work applications. We also provide support from Learning Mentors, our Inclusion Manager and our excellent Learning Support Department.

Staffing

We operate a coaching culture to share best practice, maintain high standards of teaching and to support all staff in their career development.
