Our curriculums are broad and challenging, with the academic success of students at the heart of what we do.

To encourage progression, our schools provides effective advice and guidance. This enables learners to make informed and appropriate decisions for future study and employment, encouraging them to take on new challenges and reach higher levels of achievement.

The focus on excellence underpins all we do whether in learning areas, working in the community or governing and leading our schools.

I would love you to be part of our journey towards becoming ‘Outstanding’. I would encourage positive, hardworking, and committed candidates who have a real passion for improving the lives of young people to apply. If you believe you have what it takes to help Consett Academy reach its enormous potential, please get in touch.

I would encourage you to visit our fantastic campus to see for yourself the superb learning and working environment that we have. If you would like to arrange a visit, please email our HR Team at recruitment@ncdat.org.uk whereupon a mutually convenient date and time will be arranged.

Mr T Urwin

Headteacher

Ofsted

I am delighted to be able to share with you our Ofsted report with confirmation that Consett Academy is once again a “Good” school following our recent inspection. As you all know, when I arrived at Consett Academy 18 months ago, I was determined that the students would get a better deal and the fact we are now “Good” in all areas fills me with great pride.

It has been a real journey moving from “Requires Improvement” and I want to take this opportunity to thank all the parents/carers for their support with the changes I have made and without this, would not have been possible. I also wanted to give a special mention to the staff at Consett Academy who give so much to our students each and every day.

Finally, I want to say how proud I am of our students who have made such an impression on me but who also impressed Ofsted with their attitudes, honesty and talent. It is an honour to be Principal at Consett Academy and I look forward to driving standards and improvements further.
