Job overview

Carrfield Primary Academy is set in the heart of the Dearne Valley community in Barnsley. We have 300 children on roll ranging from three to eleven years. Bolton upon Dearne is a close community that has benefited from regeneration programs and investment, and as an academy we have worked tirelessly with families and partners to create a school where all children can thrive and gain skills, knowledge and memories which will last a lifetime.

We are a community focused academy that provides our pupils with the best possible start in life, and helps them learn and grow up to be effective members of a changing society. To do this we work hard to develop not just their academic ability, but the skills required to be successful life-long learners.

This is an incredibly exciting time to join Carrfield Primary Academy. We can offer an enthusiastic and dynamic leadership environment with a new team of staff, eager to take on new challenges and to craft the very highest standard of education for pupils.

Membership of Reach4 provides opportunities to access cutting edge CPD, for staff to work with and across a number of academies, and as new staff joining us you can expect a tailored induction program that will support, reward and challenge you.

We welcome applications from candidates who have high expectations, a strong work ethic and who can make a real difference within our community.

Our academy is bursting with potential, and we always look for talented individuals to join us on our journey.

We can offer:

  • A dedicated and talented team with a commitment to excellence in education, grounded in a shared moral purpose of ensuring high quality provision for all learners
  • High quality professional development; including continuous career development through the combined input of all academies within the Reach4 family, an established NQT programme and aspiring leader packages
  • The chance to make a difference within a close community

If you would like to find out more about joining us for an exciting and fulfilling career, please come and visit us. Visits can be arranged by contacting Andrew Crossley on 01709 893121 or alternatively via email at a.crossley@barnsley.org

Carrfield Primary Academy

At Carrfield Primary Academy we seek to create a happy, positive and caring working environment where children are valued, both academically and socially. Our aim is to ensure that every child in our care reaches their full potential and experiences a broad, balanced and creative curriculum. We endeavour to produce lifelong learners who will relish the challenges that our rapidly changing world has to offer.

Carrfield Primary Academy has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere where every child is valued. All the staff, parents, governors are committed to working together to ensure every child reaches their potential.

We have high hopes and aspirations for our children and we are continuously adapting and redesigning our curriculum to ensure that we interest all of our children and involve them as fully as possible in their learning. We want our children to be excited about coming to school and to love learning; to be motivated, enthusiastic, and challenged; to know that success is in each and every one of them and comes as a result of their own effort: this is paramount. We endeavour to provide our children with the belief that they can improve and learn, and to be delighted and proud of their many achievements.

We believe however, that in order for children to achieve their best, there needs to be a really positive co-operation between home and school. We really value the relationships that exist between home and school and seek to involve the parents and carers as much as possible, not just in their child’s education, but in the work of the school in general.
