Assistant Principal - Head of Sixth Form

As a new and expanding academy we are looking for an outstanding head of sixth form to grow the post-16 provision and drive up attainment. 

The Head of Sixth Form at Elutec, an exciting new school in East London, will have the opportunity to develop the post-16 team, create a vibrant and unique sixth form and, working with the senior leadership team, ensure that we are the first choice for young people in the region looking to specialise in engineering, sciences and maths. The post holder will set the ethos of academic excellence for sixth form students and staff and be responsible for all aspects of 16+ achievement and attainment. Key aspects of the role include monitoring the quality of the provision across the sixth form and taking a pro-active approach to developing teachers’ pedagogy and practice, as well as day to day operational leadership and management of the sixth form.

Our brand new building houses 7 engineering and technology workshops, 4 science labs and state of the art lecture theatre and is located conveniently near to Dagenham East station. 

The candidate will build a sixth form, which is committed to a collaborative, creative and stimulating approach to teaching and learning. The right person will shape and deliver our curriculum and play an integral role in our vision for success. 

Students in the sixth form at Elutec follow one of three pathways; A level, vocational engineering or the Technical Baccalaureate. We also offer 3 sciences, maths, product design and computer science at A level and BTEC in engineering and ICT. 

The successful applicant will be an English, science or engineering specialist with a proven track record. This role would suit an experienced leader and the successful candidate will be on the senior leadership team.
