About the role

Our Assistant Principal will:

  • Establish and implement whole-school systems for pupil wellbeing
  • Conduct pupil voice surveys to ensure they feel happy and safe in school, championing the importance of pupil voice to other members of the senior leadership team
  • Provide staff with training and support so they can play a part in enhancing pupils’ personal development
  • Promote and evaluate the effectiveness of the school’s behaviour policy and strategies
  • Monitor pupil attendance, alongside the Head Teacher, and ensure it is continuously improving
  • Analyse whole-school data on attendance, behaviour, exclusions and wellbeing to inform future improvement strategies
  • Uphold public trust in school leadership and maintain high standards of ethics, behaviour and professional conduct
  • Build positive and respectful relationships across the school community
  • Serve in the best interests of the school’s pupils
  • Full-time leadership hours, permanent role

We are a new state-funded primary preparatory school, which opened in September 2014 for reception pupils. In September 2016 we moved into our brand new, purpose-built school building, which is located on the Malcolm Arnold Academy Campus. Our school is committed to ensuring that our children not only excel in the classroom, but also gain the skills and passions to enable them to be successful long into their futures.

We focus on positive behaviour management systems and promote the values we would like our children to embody through our MAPS Code of Conduct. Our code is simple and well-understood, even by Reception children:
