Reporting to:    The Principal 

Salary scale:             Leadership Scale 

Teaching commitment:  10 teaching periods per week

The Assistant Principal (Raising Achievement Leader) will play a crucial leadership role in the college as a part of the Senior Leadership Team; will contribute to all strategic and operational aspects of college life, and will; support our aim to realise an exceptional standard of education for all St Charles students.

  • To be a significant presence in the day to day running of the College.
  • To work as a member of the senior leadership team to drive and deliver excellent standards in student achievement and progression
  • To promote and develop the college’s mission and deliver upon its strategic and operational objectives
  • To provide a role model of excellent practice for staff
  • To lead on the promotion of effective Assessment practices which meet the needs of all students 
  • To ensure robust assessment is integral across the College that targets for improvement are integral to feedback and that assessment information is used for the recording and reporting on the progress of students  
  • Maximise the achievement of all groups of students 
  • Implement systems for effective intervention & retesting of all underachieving students to promote continuous improvement across all subjects 
  • Develop and implement policies and practices which reflect College aims and objectives, policies and practices.
  • Lead on all areas of the college’s Quality Improvement Plan related to assessment, intervention and raising student achievement.
