The International School of Koje (ISK) is a coeducational international school for children from 3 years old to Year 9 (UK) or Grade 8 (US). Located in the world’s largest shipbuilding city, ISK was first established in 1970s to support expat children’s education then has grown into an independent school. We are an international school accredited by the Ministry of Education of Korea.  We also acquired an IPC accreditation and are working toward to achieve IMYC accreditation during 2016-2017. Position Summary

International School of Koje (ISK) is seeking a well-qualified and experienced Assistant Principal to start in August 2017. The school wishes to offer high school classes in the future and so it would be desirable for the candidates to have experience in developing high school programs including IGCSE and possibly the IB Diploma. Knowledge and experience of college counseling would also be desirable / necessary.

He/she is responsible for:

  • Using the recent IPC/IMYC Accreditation Reports (June 2016 and June/July 2017) respectively, as guides to oversee the next stage implementation of the school’s IPC/IMYC Action Plan. These will also be required to be incorporated into the overall School Improvement Plan.   
  • Overseeing preparation and maintenance of curriculum and documentation (curriculum policy documents & planning documents)
  • Academic targets: setting individual, year level and whole school targets and supporting progress towards them.
  • Setting up and arranging class plan and time tables.
  • Assisting the Principal with staff monitoring and evaluation.

 Required Qualifications:

  • Must have previous successful leadership experience in an international school setting
  • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership capability
  • Sensitivity to diverse cultures
    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s or Advanced degree in education or similar; or leadership
  • Knowledge of and experience with the IPC and IMYC program
  • Familiar and experienced with accreditation procedures
