Values and vision

Hamilton College's stated aim is: “Every pupil achieves their very best and feels secure." Teachers want students to leave the school as aspirational, mature and confident young adults. The secondary school strives to encourage all children to achieve to the best of their ability and believes that everyone has the potential to succeed.

Hamilton College offers a variety of study support clubs to encourage pupils' academic, sporting and creative talents. The school also offers a wide range of trips and activities beyond the classroom. These have included visits to the European Parliament in Brussels and annual on-site activities such as the annual Fitness and Fun Week. An active student council works to represent the voices of pupils, helping them to get involved in decision-making at the school.

Ofsted report

“Leaders have provided a wide range of extra-curricular activities to enable pupils to extend their experience beyond the curriculum. These opportunities enable pupils to develop their understanding of the world around them, including understanding cultural diversity. They also enable the most able to explore the academic interests that they are unable to pursue in the school due to the narrow curriculum, particularly in science."
