Job overview

We need your vision, drive & determination to help us in our journey towards “Outstanding” at our highly successful and nationally recognised Academy.

You will play a central role within our Senior Leadership Team; leading on SEN and Pupil Premium to ensure that every student is enabled to achieve the best possible outcomes; regardless of learning needs or disadvantage.  You will be an outstanding practitioner of your subject area, with a proven track record of success.  You will utilise the best of your talents whilst developing personally within a committed and experienced group of senior leadership colleagues.  The successful candidate will hold the NASENCo qualification, or be working towards this.

Ormiston Rivers Academy is recognised as a firmly “Good” School (Ofsted 2016), with the determination and ability to move to “Outstanding”.  We are supported in this aim by our sponsor, Ormiston Academies Trust.  Our overall Progress 8 score in 2019 was +0.43, placing us within the top 9% of schools nationally, and ranking us as the 2nd highest performing non-selective school in Essex.  Historically, SEN and Pupil Premium students have performed well in the academy, achieving outcomes largely in line with their year group cohort.  The percentage of SEN students is approximately 20%, and the percentage of Pupil Premium students is similarly around 20%.

This is a key, strategic role within the Academy and we are committed to recruiting a candidate who shares our vision and who views the post as a positive progression in their career.  Visits are welcomed and encouraged.

Please contact Mrs Julie Damps, HR Manager on 01621 787826 or at jdamps@ormistonriversacademy.co.uk  to arrange a visit or for further information.

Ormiston Academies Trust is a values led, not-for-profit education trust.  We are committed to safeguarding and the welfare of children & young people and will conduct recruitment checks including a full DBS check.  All staff are expected to share this commitment.
