This is an exciting opportunity for an inspirational, driven, child-focused Assistant Principal to join our Senior Leadership Team at Grove Academy.

This is an amazing opportunity to contribute to creating a powerful and effective learning environment for our inclusive community.

Grove Academy is a new and expanding free school which opened in September 2017 and is the first all-through school to open in Slough. The school will grow each year to a full capacity of 1,940 including sixth form.

We have recently moved into our brand new building in Chalvey and are excited to be fully resourced for a rich and broad curriculum. 

We are looking for an Assistant Principal who:

Will work in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure outstanding leadership and management within the academy

• Is an excellent communicator and team player who can form positive and meaningful relationships with staff, children, governors, parents and the wider community

• Has high expectations of behaviour and is able to motivate staff and pupils

• Can analyse and interpret data to identify priorities for continuous improvement and support clear strategic decisions

• Is able to model excellence in the classroom and lead the development of colleagues at all levels

• Is an exceptional middle/senior leader with a demonstrable commitment to helping pupils achieve their best

Grove Academy is the first all-through school to open in Slough and provides opportunity and education for 4 to 16 year olds, underpinned by high-quality teaching and learning and a common assessment framework. This continuity ensures that we can avoid the dips in performance associated with transition from one phase or school to another.

As one school we are able to teach subjects to our younger children via specialist subject teachers, such as modern foreign languages and PE. We can provide pastoral care for children in challenging circumstances by offering a ‘joined-up’ strategy and support families more consistently over a longer time.
