We are seeking a highly effective, dynamic and inspirational Assistant Principal to lead on Pastoral care and student progress in the College with a clear focus on ensuring a high-quality, well-rounded experience for all students. 

The Assistant Principal will need to demonstrate drive, initiative and ambition to help lead the College strategically, whilst also leading and managing their areas of responsibility effectively.  

You will have:   

  • A recent track record of excellent curriculum or pastoral management, ideally over a range or group of subjects/courses/areas and a team of staff.  

• Ability to inspire confidence and gain trust, with a proven record of effective leadership. 

• Consistent evidence of a positive and constructive approach to cross-college issues and challenges. 

• Understanding of the pastoral dimension of curriculum work and pastoral systems. 

• Experience of pastoral, safeguarding or progress leadership, ideally over a range or group of subjects/areas and a team of staff. 

• Knowledge and experience of quality assurance systems and Key Performance indicators. 

• Experience of successfully managing people and teams. 

• Proficient in the use of appropriate ICT. 

• Experience of managing difficult situations through to successful outcomes. 

• A recent track record of excellent teaching in own subject area at Level 3. 

The salary for the post is: £56, 145 to £60,286 p.a. 

To work 205 days (term time plus 10 days) together with some additional dates outside of term time to be contactable, in case of emergency, to cover CLT holidays will be expected, because of the seniority and level of remuneration of this management role. 

(N.B. the role requires 1-2 blocks of teaching which will be reviewed annually in line with college needs.
