Job overview
We are looking for an excellent Teaching & Learning senior leader to join one of the best schools in the country and help us transform the lives of children. This is a rare opportunity to join the leadership team of a school where the ambition is a simple one: to ensure every student has the opportunity to attend University when they leave us. We serve the best children in the country and they deserve and will receive, a world class education.
Our approaches are unique at Marine Academy, and this will not be a school that will appeal to everyone. Please only apply if you passionately believe:
- Background or home-life is not an excuse for failure or poor behaviour.
- Every student should have the option to attend University when they leave.
- Discipline, hard work, consistency and routines underpin student wellbeing and happiness.
- That group work, and ‘active learning’ are overrated.
- That academic rigour, challenge and knowledge acquisition are vital to success.
- That the curriculum should be sequenced, highly structured and knowledge rich.
- That school leaders remove barriers for colleagues so that they can grow and excel.
- That leadership, resilience and aspiration are valuable characteristics to grow in children
If you believe all of these things, are professionally ambitious and driven to transform the lives of the children of our community and City then please apply for the position of Assistant Principal-T&L. You will be responsible for shaping our approach to T&L and staff development and have oversight of the Lead Practitioner team as well as other departmental line management. You will need to be a subject specialist in either Maths or Science and have a proven track record of leading excellent outcomes in these areas.
Relocation package available for the right candidate. Devon is an amazing place to live and work, with open countryside, beautiful coastline and clean air, there is no better time than now to come and live in such a wonderful place.
