We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Assistant Principal: Teaching & Learning. The Assistant Principal for Teaching and Learning plays an integral role in the Academy. They are responsible for ensuring that lessons provide pupils with a strong educational experience, through the delivery of high quality, consistently delivered learning experiences. The Assistant Principal will support in developing a culture of continuous improvement by ensuring appropriate professional learning (informed by research) supports teachers to develop their teaching in accordance with the Haberdashers’ Teaching Principles.

The postholder may have a background in curriculum, pedagogical development or assessment. They will be committed to working as part of a broader Quality of Education team, with the ambition of shaping an educational experience which is unrivalled.  They are likely to have contributed to teacher development initiatives in their past experiences.

With a Sixth Form opening in 2024, the postholder will support in developing staff expertise in relation to Post 16 teaching. 

You are likely to be an exceptional communicator, who is deeply committed to supporting and developing others. You will work alongside our subject specialists to develop specific approaches which enhance the delivery of the curriculum. You will also have oversight of the provision for ECTs, ensuring a high quality offer that develops colleagues.

You will also be able to demonstrate impact in leading the implementation of curriculum and/or teaching strategies. You will have examples of how inclusive approaches have ensured the success of all pupils.
