The WMG Academy Trust Board are seeking to appoint a motivated, dedicated and aspirational Assistant Principal to join the Senior Leadership Team at WMG Academy for Young Engineers, Solihull.

We are looking for a different kind of school leader who wants to be at the cutting edge of teaching and learning, working differently alongside employer partners and a team of outstanding teachers, governors, parents and students. We are bringing the curriculum to life with an innovative approach using real-life business problem-solving skills and embracing business-like learning behaviours.

The successful candidate will ensure that all learners are provided with an ‘outstanding’ education and will be expected to develop the Academy’s education programs whilst providing a nurturing and supportive environment.

 

WMG Academy for Young Engineers, Solihull is part of the wider WMG Academy Trust and is led by the CEO, Stewart Tait, a Board of Trustees, chaired by Stuart Baker, and a Local Governing Body, chaired by Andy Mottershead.

WMG Academy for Young Engineers Solihull is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school with a sixth form in the West Midlands, serving students from the age of 14-18. The secondary school, situated in Solihull is a University Technical College (UTC), led by businesses and a university.  Partners at WMG Academy for Young Engineers Solihull include The University of Warwick, WMG, National Grid, Rolls Royce and Jaguar Land Rover.

WMG Academy for Young Engineers Solihull opened in 2016. There is also another WMG Academy in Coventry, which opened in 2014. The Academy has purpose-built learning facilities, including dedicated engineering equipment and professional working spaces substituting classrooms.

Students are offered a wide range of enrichment activities to gain additional skills and enhance their time at the Academy.
