Role Purpose

The Skills for Life team has responsibility for the development and delivery of ESOL, English, Maths and Employability programmes including accredited qualifications and Family Learning.

The purpose of this job is to provide expert curriculum knowledge and skills and to lead a team of tutors and subject specialists responsible for the delivery of high quality ESOL programmes.

Key Responsibilities

You will contribute to the planning, development, management and delivery of ESOL provision to a high quality standard.

You will lead and motivate a team of ambitious ESOL tutors and you will set and monitor challenging targets of achievement including enrolment, retention, success rates and quality improvement targets

You will be responsible for key quality assurance activities including observation of teaching and learning, moderation, quality improvement plans and self-assessment reports.

Requirements

You will be required to hold a teaching qualification such as a PGCE and a subject specialism in ESOL of at least a level 5 equivalent.

You must have a proven track record of achieving challenging targets in a learning environment through the management of team members and experience of delivering and managing high quality teaching and learning in a similar environment.
