Assistant School and Animal Caretaker

Wanted to start as soon as possible, an efficient, enthusiastic and proactive individual to undertake the duties of Assistant School and Animal caretaker at Parklands Junior School. Experience preferred.

We are looking for an Assistant School and Animal caretaker to run our school Quad and assist with the day-to-day maintenance and cleaning requirements of a busy school.

We feel that having a passion for animals is essential for this role and if you need to enhance your qualifications, we will be offering training to go alongside it.

We currently keep chickens, goats, rabbits and turtles and are always looking to add to this. Your role includes care of these animals (feeding, cleaning, ensuring safety), the upkeep of the Quad (cleaning, health and safety etc.) and basic admin tasks such as vet visits and ordering food and cleaning materials.

As a key holder you will be responsible for locking the school most evenings along with a variety of other cleaning and general maintenance responsibilities. 

Parklands Junior is a large but friendly and inclusive school, with a busy and committed teaching team. The successful candidate would demonstrate the skills necessary to ensure the smooth running of the school including flexibility, initiative, assisting the cleaning team, caretaking, maintenance, health and safety and security of the school site and buildings, as detailed in the attached job profile. They will also be expected to supervise evening lettings as and when needed.
