Are you an Assistant SENCO/Learning Support Teacher committed to improving the lives of children and young people?

We are looking for an Assistant SENCO/Learning Support Teacher to join our fantastic team at Reddish Hall School.

About the School

Reddish Hall School is a co-educational school catering for students aged 5-18 with complex educational needs, communication difficulties and challenging behaviour. The school accepts students with social and emotional difficulties, though our students may face additional challenges and diagnoses including ADHD, ASC, SpLD, MLD, OCD, Dyslexia, Attachment Disorder, Dyscalculia, Foetal Alcohol Syndrome and a variety of other conditions. Additionally, many of our students have serious social issues and very difficult home lives resulting in complex emotional difficulties.

About the Group

We are part of Acorn Care and Education and can promise you plenty of challenges, and a rich variety of opportunities to develop your career.

We provide Education and Care across a number of schools and residential homes nationally. Our specialist SEN provision, coupled with our expertise within residential care means we offer thousands of vulnerable children and young people across the UK a holistic, wraparound care, residential and education service, empowering them with everything they need to flourish. It is by no accident that 94% of our schools and homes are rated as Outstanding or Good.

We welcome staff who share our commitment to help children experience better days and better lives. Through ongoing development and training, we ensure our staff are well prepared for their jobs and given every opportunity to extend their skills.

Your work will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure and you will be working in a school where we maintain a strong safeguarding culture, where pupils are listened to, respected and involved in as many decisions as possible.

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant SENCO/Learning Support Teacher who shares our vision to build incredible futures by empowering vulnerable young people in the UK to be happy and to make their way in the world.

Whilst previous experience of working in an SEN/ASC environment would be desirable, excellent teaching skills and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important.

You will be calm, engaging, resilient, and have an innovative style of teaching, motivated by helping every child to reach their potential.

Reddish Hall School is a co-educational school catering for pupils aged 5-18 with complex educational needs, communication difficulties and challenging behaviour- all of our young people have an Education Health Care Plan. The school accepts pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs, though they may face additional challenges and diagnoses including ADHD, Asperger’s, SpLD, MLD, OCD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia, Foetal Alcohol Syndrome or a variety of other conditions. Additionally, many of our pupils have serious social issues and very difficult home lives resulting in complex emotional difficulties.

All pupils attending Reddish Hall School have individual needs that have proved too complex to be addressed within a mainstream setting. The school provides effective support and a suitably differentiated curriculum, enabling them to progress and succeed to the best of their ability.

The aims and values of the school emphasise a commitment to provide a high quality provision for all our pupils.
