Assistant SENCO

Location: Oxford

Salary: £27,005.00 per annum - Pro Rata

Closing date: Noon on Wednesday 8 December 2021

Interview date: Tuesday 14 December 2021

Following the successful appointment of our current Assistant SENCO to an Assistant Educational Psychologist role, we are looking to recruit a new Assistant SENCO to work as part of our SEND and Safeguarding team.

The role will include supporting the SENCO in promoting the learning and personal development of vulnerable children (including those with SEND) through effective intervention, working as part of our safeguarding team, supporting behaviour management and working with families and outside agencies.

A confident and professional attitude, excellent interpersonal skills and a high level of IT literacy with experience of Microsoft packages is required. The ability to converse at ease with members of our community is essential to the post.

Experience in a similar role or within a SEND role would be beneficial but is not essential as the role will include training.

Windale Primary school is situated on the outskirts of Oxford City, within Blackbird Leys and Greater Leys and sits at the very heart of the community. Your work here will have the power to transform life opportunities where it is needed most.

Windale Primary School is part of United Learning, a large and growing group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England.

Our schools work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. Our subject specialists, our Group-wide intranet, our own curriculum and our online learning portal all help us share knowledge and resources, helping to simplify work processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance.

As a Group, we can reward our staff better: with good career opportunities and training e.g. NPQS, better pay, additional benefits and ultimately, the satisfaction of helping children to succeed.

We invest in our staff wellbeing. Our schools each have at least eight INSET days per year and an ongoing group-wide wellbeing programme. It is an ethos we call ‘the best in everyone’. We also have United Rewards, covering lifestyle and retail benefits including childcare vouchers, car lease scheme, cycle to work etc.

For further information about Windale Primary School go to http://www.windaleprimary.com. If you would like to visit the school, please contact Tina Arundell on 01865 777796.

The trust takes safeguarding children seriously; the successful applicant will have to undergo a DBS check and references will be required in line with our Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy.
