Job overview

The role

Due to the continued growth of the school, we are seeking to appoint an Assistant SENDCo with experience as a Specialist Teacher, Speech and Language Therapist, Assessor or Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join us on a permanent basis.

At Sutton High School, we maintain an inclusive ethos, and we admit students with a range of additional learning needs. As Assistant SENDCo, you will provide key support to these students, working alongside the Head of Neurodiversity (SENDCo) to take responsibility for agreed activities / interventions. This will involve assessing, planning, and delivering interventions for individuals or small groups, including reporting on achievement, progress and development.

Within the Neurodiversity Team, you will help to address the needs of students who need particular help to overcome barriers to learning. This may involve being a one-to-one Learning Assistant to students with additional needs, as well as providing support to students and teachers in order to raise standards of achievement and encourage independent learning.

We are seeking a candidate willing to provide support with maintaining student records, liaising with outside agencies and coordinating the exam access arrangements process.
