Job overview

A fantastic opportunity is awaiting you; the chance to design and shape innovative and creative pedagogical practice in a brand new all-through academy.

Having appointed a Director of English and exceptional teaching candidates in the first five years of opening, King’s Academy Binfield (KAB) is now looking to appoint a highly motivated, dynamic and innovative teacher of English to play an intrinsic leadership role in our all-through academy in Bracknell Forest.

Applicants will be joining an academy and faculty that:

●    Is passionate about subject specific CPD

●    Is motivated to look for opportunities to improve the well-being of its staff

●    Seeks opportunities to work collaboratively across the faculty

●    Understands the importance of curriculum design and delivery

●    Is reflective and focused on improving teaching and learning at all levels

●    Has a fantastic modern library resource to support student learning

Our all-through school opened in a superb new building in September 2018 and we have grown year on year, with our first Year 11 students currently in the final year of their GCSE study. In addition to the secondary phase, we also have two primary phases set across two sites, King’s Academy Binfield (KAB) and King’s Academy Oakwood (KAO). In September 2023, we will have students from year N to year 6 in primary and year 7 through to year 12. Our 6th Form will be opening in September 2023 so experience of teaching at A Level would be an advantage in an application for this post.

The successful applicant will teach across the secondary phase, and will also have the opportunity to teach within the primary phase.

Applicants should be excellent teachers and have the ability to motivate, inspire and lead students to excel. The successful candidate will be a team player and will get stuck in and involve themselves in the wider aspects of academy life. They will also work closely with the Director of English and be a key player in driving curriculum development, subject CPD and take a lead role in raising standards in English. A genuine commitment to our ‘whatever it takes’ ethos is essential to enable every young person at KAB and KAO to thrive.

King’s Academy Binfield and King’s Academy Oakwood are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young students and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful applicant will need to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.

King's Academy Binfield is a new all-through school within The Kings Group Academies.

Our mission is to provide high quality education within a small community of outstanding schools in the UK that will deliver a transformative learning experience to all our students within the context of a global community of schools.

KGA has at its core the pursuit of the very highest standards both inside the classroom and beyond. We believe all students can exceed their expectations no matter what their prior attainment and experience. In a KGA academy no student will be labelled, we will treat them all as intelligent individuals. Through our ethos, our extended curriculum, our entrepreneurial approach and international dimension, we will ensure students develop into confident, rounded individuals, equipped for life in an ever changing world.

We pride ourselves on listening and responding to the needs of our partner schools and guarantee any school within KGA the opportunity to help shape the future development of our MAT. In a King’s Group Academy, pupils will be able to achieve their personal ambitions and academic goals, with the added advantage and motivation of working alongside peers from other King’s schools around the world.

At KGA our aim is to build clusters of excellence, blending the best of British education with the experience and success gained in our international King’s Group schools. We see staff as our most valuable resource and our innovative approach to CPD enables them to fulfil their career potential, as well as prepare our pupils for a successful future.

King’s Group was founded nearly 50 years ago by Sir Roger Fry and includes nine outstanding schools both abroad and in the UK. With this excellent foundation, King’s Group Academies has been invited by the DfE to develop a MAT and use the expertise of our team to build and provide ongoing support to small networks of outstanding academies.

We share a determination to make a positive difference to the future of our young people, their families and the wider community, as well as to the careers of our staff. This is your invitation to join us.
