Associate Assistant Headteacher – The Sir John Colfox Academy, Bridport, Dorset 

The Sir John Colfox Academy is a highly successful school in a beautiful part of Dorset.  It offers a wide range of courses at GCSE and A Level as well as a wide variety of extra curricular activities.  

The School was inspected in March 2018 and was judged to be ‘Good’ in all areas. 

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding and experienced middle leader to become a new member our Senior Leadership Team. 

Our new Associate Assistant Headteacher will be: 

  • Experienced working as a middle leader in a pastoral or curriculum area 
  • Passionate about education and committed to improving the life chances of all our students 
  • An exceptional practitioner who has demonstrated sound leadership and management skills and is making a difference in their current school 
  • A creative and strategic thinker 
  • Committed to an inclusive environment where the wellbeing of staff and students is paramount. 
  • Passionate about Teaching and Learning. 

 

Some of the main features of this new role could include: 

  • Day to day running of one or two year groups 
  • Managing the options programme for GCSE students 
  • Transition Years 5-7 
  • Overseeing the running of the Pastoral Team 
  • To help embed the whole school therapeutic behaviour system 
  • Working closely with the Inclusion and Send team to develop systems of support for students 
  • Member of SLT and associated duties 

 

This is a new role which the candidate can make a real difference in the school and an excellent opportunity for a first senior leadership position.  The exact duties will be negotiable depending on experience.
