Job overview

If you share our values, join our family.

As the highest performing Family of Schools in the North of England, Outwood Grange Academies Trust is transforming the futures of countless young people. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Languages specialist to work at Senior Leadership level whilst maintaining a focus on the subject you love.

With more than 20 schools across the North of England, The Outwood Grange Family of Schools lives up to its name. Nationally recognised as a model multi-academy trust, we have created an atmosphere where teachers and students alike feel at home from their very first day. Join our family and you’ll enjoy so many opportunities, across so many different schools, that you’ll always be able to move up without moving on.

Our academies have one common goal: to give children, irrespective of ability or circumstances, the chance to succeed. We’re passionate about regenerating communities and recognising potential, and we do whatever it takes to transform futures.

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with the drive and vision to deliver excellence in MFL at a time of changes at GCSE and a rise in importance due to the focus on EBacc subjects. With a clear focus on outstanding outcomes for students, you will ensure effective middle leadership is in place in MFL throughout the Academies you work in and rapidly raise standards at GCSE. By supporting the delivery of a broad and challenging curriculum, alongside developing intervention strategies at KS4, you will enable every child to reach or exceed their potential.

You will need the tenacity and integrity to deliver in challenging circumstances and the ability to communicate a vision that inspires, motivates and enthuses staff, children and the community as a whole.

Directors are required to work at any of our Academies within the Trust, though initially we are looking for support for our Northern schools. Applicants must be able to offer two languages to GCSE standard, ideally French and German for the northern area, although any combination of French, German and Spanish is welcome.

It is your fresh thinking mindset and ideas that will matter most. In short, we are seeking a true innovator who can make things happen – and make a real impact both our future and the broader future of education.

If you would like any further information, or to visit any of the academies, please contact the Senior Director of Modern Foreign Languages, Kirsty Thomas by email: K.Thomas@outwood.com

There will also be two open evenings held on Wednesday 20 September from 4pm until 5pm at Outwood Academy Adwick in Doncaster, and Thursday 21 September from 4pm until 5pm at Outwood Academy Acklam in Middlesbrough. If you wish to attend, please let Kirsty know by email: K.Thomas@outwood.com

Closing date: 25 September 2017.

About The Outwood Grange Academies Trust (OGAT)

Interim Chief Executive Officer: Lee Wilson

The Outwood Grange Academies Trust was born out of the success of Outwood Grange: a large school with 2,200 students, which has achieved record results for the last decade.

As one of the highest performing Family of Schools in the North of England, we have transformed education and outcomes across a network of 40 primary and secondary academies. Working closely together and sharing best practice, our schools do whatever it takes to ensure that every child, irrespective of starting point, can realise his or her full potential and unique talents.

Whether you’re joining us as a support staff member, an ECT, in a leadership position, and everything in between, we will invest in you and your development throughout your career.

By all working together, supporting and motivating each other, we believe we can raise current standards, and transform the lives of our students. If, as a Trust, we support you to help you reach your potential, we can help ensure all the children you teach will also reach theirs.
