Are you passionate about the education of young people and looking for a varied job where no two days are the same?

New Rickstones Academy is graded ‘Good’ (May 2018) and has a state of the art new building offering fantastic facilities for both students and staff. Over the last 7 years the academy has seen a huge increase in student numbers, with the number of students on roll more than doubling. The academy is now oversubscribed and our new build opened September 2022 to meet this demand. New Rickstones Academy is a great place to work with a friendly and supportive staff team. Staff numbers have also increased and the academy is proud to boast high staff retention rates. Staff development is a priority with an extensive and hugely successful CPD (Continuing Professional Development) program to further develop our excellent staff.

We are looking for a casual Associate Teacher/Cover Supervisor to join our Cover Team. You will provide cover for classes in the event of absence of teaching staff in all areas of the curriculum, following lesson plans provided and maintaining order and focused activity. You must have GCSE Maths & English Grade C/Level 4, preferably with a Level 3 or above qualifications. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to motivate our learners. You will be able to adapt quickly to changing situations and ‘think on your feet’.

This is a flexible role and full training will be provided for the successful candidate. If you are a graduate or studying for a degree it presents an exciting opportunity as you will gain experience to potentially develop a career within teaching - a number of our support staff have progressed to our teacher training programme and then into teaching and leadership positions.

Working hours are 08.30 - 15.15. Working days are flexible and the start date is flexible.

For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Hannah Gracie, Assistant Headteacher - hgracie@newrickstonesacademy.org.
