At TIS Macao, we offer the Alberta curriculum and the International Baccalaureate (IB) program for our high school students as a program of choice. We are looking for a dedicated Athletic Director to be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of athletic activities at our School. These responsibilities include but are not limited to developing and managing the department's budget, coordinating coaches, promoting athletic and ECA activities and events, and tracking team progress. 
To be a successful Athletic Director, you should be dedicated, detail-oriented, and meticulous in your work. You should be passionate about the athletics department, as well as ECA programming in helping your students, coaches and club leaders to reach their full potential.
Athletic Director Responsibilities:
Raising the profile of the School’s athletics programs within our community.
Managing the School’s extra-curricular athletics program, including oversight of the program budget.
Developing long-term goals and strategies for the athletics program that align with the school's vision and mission.
Establishing budget development plans for the extra-curricular athletics program.


Coordinating with coaches on game, practice, and event schedules.
Work collaboratively with the ECA Program Manager to coordinate after-school programming.
Coordinating and promoting athletic events, such as games and fundraisers.
Coordinating transportation, accommodation, and logistics for TIS teams traveling both in and out of Macao.
Coordinating the planning and implementation of hosting athletics tournaments.
Coordinating the planning and organization of the annual Athletic Awards Banquet.
Coordinating the smooth operation of student sign up and participation record in after school athletics using our Student Management System.
Monitoring coaching staff to ensure School expectations and program quality are met.
Assessing suitability of prospective coaches. 
Maintaining an awareness of industry events and changes, such as regulation changes.
Inspecting facilities and equipment for cleanliness, safety, and upkeep.
Undertaking appropriate risk assessments for athletic activities both on and off campus.
Assessing the condition of resources and applying for the purchase of necessary equipment and facility upgrades.
Coordinating third-party group access to TIS facilities during and after school hours.
Providing First Aid as necessary when on campus and on overseas athletic events.
Teaching PE related courses as needed by the School.
Formulate and oversee the student Athletic Council.
Effectively work collaboratively with the AD assistant.
Carry a supervisory role of the AD assistant.
Building relationships with community organizations and stakeholders to promote the athletics program and enhance its visibility.
Keeping open lines of communication with parents, students, and the community regarding athletics policies, schedules, and achievements.
Utilizing data to evaluate program effectiveness, including student participation rates, performance metrics, and budget management.
Engaging with alumni to foster ongoing support for the athletic programs through networking and fundraising events.
Collaborate with pastoral leaders to ensure student athletes are meeting school expectations (Attendance, behaviour, punctuality, effort etc.)


Athletic Director Requirements:
A Bachelor's or master's degree in sports management, physical education, or related field.
A minimum of 3 years of experience as an Athletic Director.
Teaching certification (or eligibility for certification) by Alberta Education is required.
Strong leadership and management skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to multitask in a high pressure environment.
Understanding fundraising and promotional events.
Ability to handle scrutiny from parents and the public, and respond effectively and appropriately to complaints that may arise.
Ability to communicate effectively to different stakeholder groups (teachers, students, administrators, vendors, community groups, etc).
General knowledge of the rules and regulations surrounding popular sports (basketball, volleyball, football, track and field, cross country, swim, tennis,badminton, golf, etc).
Ability and willingness to work overtime during evenings and weekends for tournaments and special events.
Willingness and ability to travel with sports teams and clubs in and outside of Macao SAR.
First Aid program instructor qualification is desirable.
