Part time 0.8 FTE, Fixed term contract Sep 2023 - June 2024

Are you passionate about supporting and developing the skills and knowledge of learners with SEND?

We are looking for a part-time, fixed term teacher to join our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) team as a Supported Internship tutor. Our department delivers a range of courses that support learners with SEND to develop skills including independent living skills, communication, personal development, employability, vocational and enterprise. A commitment to working with young people/adults with additional support needs underpins all aspects of our work.

The post will involve tutoring on one of our award-winning Supported Internship programmes and will be based mostly at the host business. You will work to develop the intern’s communication, independence, employability, and life skills. An interest and commitment to personalised learning, a student-centred approach and experience of working with young people and adults with learning disabilities is essential.

You will be required to deliver the curriculum effectively through a variety of different learning strategies, communicating effectively with students, parents and carers, job coaches, and partners as appropriate. You will also provide learners with on-the-job support and teaching and appropriate tutorial support in accordance with the programme and individual requirements.

As a lecturer at the college, you will benefit from a generous annual leave entitlement including an annual birthday leave day, generous pension scheme, free gym and a range of CPD updating from the college’s dedicated Quality Improvement Team.
