Job overview

We seek a highly motivated and hardworking individual to support the improvement of attendance for individual students across Years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11. The successful candidate will be organised and have strong levels of literacy and IT skills. You will be responsible for undertaking a series of tasks each day, including the chasing, processing and coding of student absences, the oversight of registers to ensure timely and accurate completion, and the preparation of data to enable absence messages to be sent home. You will work within a small team of staff responsible for attendance.

To be successful, you will have unlimited optimism, good communication skills, strong levels of literacy, good IT skills and the tenacity to succeed in driving attendance levels upwards in the school.

The post requires a good standard of education but, more importantly, an attitude which is positive and supportive towards young people and their families.

This is a part-time role working 25 hours per week (mornings), term time only, plus 25 hours in the school holidays.

In return, you will enjoy a unique working environment in the heart of the Weald of Kent. There is an independent nursery based on the school site.

It’s a competitive market out there, and we want to know what it is that makes you the one we can invest in. Detail your successes in your covering letter and get us excited about you.

We are not accepting applications from employment agencies for this position but would be delighted to receive a direct application from you.

Closing date: 19th February 2023; however, early applications are encouraged as we review applications as we receive them.

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all members of the community. You are advised that this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and therefore, this post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
