Job overview

Do you enjoy working with young people, helping them to improve their outcomes and succeed, often in spite of their circumstances? Supporting all of our students, and especially those who are disadvantaged, to achieve their best while at school is at the core of what we do at Northampton School for Girls. This newly created role will form a vital part of that support, focusing on improving attendance and supporting the pastoral needs of our most vulnerable students. We are seeking someone who is dedicated to improving the outcomes for all young people; someone who will not waver in insisting on the highest standards of care and support for our students, thereby giving them the best possible chance of succeeding.

You will have the skills to develop professional relationships with young people; to inspire, motivate and challenge them. You will have an understanding of how to use high expectations to contribute to a purposeful learning environment and you will be an effective communicator in carrying out your role. You will also have an understanding of student-related data and an ability to analyse, monitor and report on data relevant to your role.

Northampton School for Girls (NSG) is an Ofsted Outstanding, state-funded, comprehensive school on the outskirts of Northampton. Our school community is multi-faith and multi-cultural with students coming from rural and urban settings. We seek to be one of the best schools in Northamptonshire and this is reflected in the high standards and expectations we set for both staff and students.

As your employer, we will provide you with a range of bespoke opportunities to support your career and ongoing professional development. At Northampton School for Girls, we are committed to caring for and supporting the development and growth of all our school community, students and staff alike. This is at the heart of our school ethos. You will be a like-minded individual who will promote our ethos of respect and inclusion for all.

We seek high-quality applications from a wide spectrum of talented people, acknowledging that diversity in our staffing enriches our NSG community and the learning experience for our students. We are working to create an inclusive culture where people can be themselves and are empowered to do their best.

If you have any questions, please email us: people@nsg.northants.sch.uk

Closing date: 9.00am, Monday 28 June 2021

We would encourage you to submit your application as soon as you are able as we reserve the right to act on received applications before the closing date has passed.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.

The successful applicant will be expected to undertake a criminal records check, via the Disclosure & Barring Service, the cost of which will be met by NSG. Details of our safer recruitment policy can be found in the school policies section of our website.
