Furness Education Trust is a multi-academy trust based in Barrow in Furness, Cumbria serving the Furness Community, located near the centre of the historic shipbuilding town, we are close to the southern boundary of the Lake District National Park. Currently comprised of six academies including Furness Academy and five primary schools, the Trust aims to develop best practice by collaborating and working together to give the best of everything to every child.
We are looking for a positive, enthusiastic person to join our team. The successful applicant will have previous experience of working with young people in an academy environment or similar, at least 2 years’ experience in planning and delivery of specific and individual interventions and working knowledge of relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation.

You will:
- Support all students, including all identified vulnerable groups in improving and maintaining attendance across the academies within the Trust to gain maximum life chances from educational opportunity.
- Work with existing post holder and Assistant Headteacher to support student and Academy improvement by putting into practice appropriate strategies to support children and young people who are failing to maintain high levels of Academy attendance and/or exhibit behaviour that reduces their educational opportunities and life chances.
- Ensure relevant and accurate attendance statistics are maintained by analysing data to benchmark and plan appropriate interventions to improve Academy attendance. To support the Assistant Headteacher and assist in development of the Academy attendance improvement plan.
- Work with Parent/Carers and integrated children’s services to maintain high levels of attendance.
