Grade C+ Salary Points 6-7

Actual Salary £18,592 - £18,931 per annum (£21,968 - £22,369) per annum full time equivalent)

Term Time Only - 37 hours per week (Monday 8.00 – 3.30, Tuesday - Friday 8.00 – 4.00) with some flexibility of hours to meet specific work demands.

Nunthorpe Academy is a very popular co-educational 11-19 comprehensive converter Academy with approximately 1550 students on roll - judged to be GOOD by OFSTED.

The successful candidate will:

  • Promote high standards of attendance and punctuality – maximising student learning and educational experiences.
  • Follow Academy procedures, ensuring that accurate records are kept, timely, regular and appropriate communication with parents/carers takes place and whole Academy strategies and protocols are promoted and adhered to.


Key Accountabilities include:

To monitor and report attendance and punctuality for all students in their care (Attendance Officer/ Assistant Vice Principal (AVP) Behaviour and Attitudes)

  • Liaise with Attendance Officer (AO) to ensure attendance recording systems are updated accurately and in a timely manner
  • Support the AO to take answerphone messages and update daily attendance records.
  • Ensure ‘first response’ phone calls are made to all parents/carers by 10.30am every day, pro-actively seeking assistance if required.
  • Take responsibility for the completion of home visits for students who have been absent for 3 days.
  • Ensure communications with students and parents/carers are timely and compliant with the Trust’s communication protocol.
  • Supervise the sign in process for students arriving late. This will also include recording, tracking and monitoring punctuality data.
  • Ensure class teachers are completing registers accurately and on time.
  • Pro-actively follow up on ‘BFL safeguarding register’ issues to ensure we know the whereabouts of all students on site.
  • Oversee Sixth Form supervised study periods and ensure that registers are completed accurately
