Attendance Improvement Officer

We are looking to appoint an Attendance Improvement Officer who can help us rapidly improve attendance, not least amongst our disadvantaged students, at our successful, oversubscribed community school.

The successful candidate will be able to answer yes to the following questions:

• Are you passionate about the role of education in improving opportunities for young people?

• Can you establish, develop and maintain positive relationships with students, parents/carers, and colleagues?

• Do you have a good understanding of the barriers to school attendance?

• Do you have a constructive, problem-solving approach to overcoming challenges?

• Do you communicate effectively and respectfully?

• Do you have a good attention to detail?

• Are you ambitious, innovative and enthusiastic?

While experience in working on attendance and punctuality in schools may be desirable, it is not essential, and we would be delighted to welcome applications from colleagues with relevant experience in areas such as social work, public services, and local government and civil service.
