Contract: Permanent contract, 30 hours per week, 38 weeks per year (term time only)


St John Plessington Catholic College is looking for an enthusiastic individual to provide attendance administrative support for the completion of effective support services in the running of the school and ensuring information flows are effective.

 

The successful candidate will be extremely well supported, working alongside a passionate team of teachers and support staff.

  We would like you to: 

  • To provide administration support for attendance, including contacting parents and maintaining attendance data
  • To contact parents of absent pupils without reason and establish the reason for non-attendance prioritising vulnerable groups
  • Send daily communication to parents to advise of absences and late arrival to school 
  • Update marks in Arbor as pupils arrive after the register has closed to school, or sign out for appointments
  • Monitor absence and flag up any concerns or long term absences
  • Track and record all correspondence relating to specific pupils in cases that might be more complex or where there are issues particularly relating to attendance
  • Run various daily and weekly reports for staff as required
  • Phone alternative provisions daily to check attendance on off-site pupils
  • Phone pupils on managed moves to check attendance daily
  • To produce reports and record information including statistical data
  • Maintaining manual and computerised records/management information systems
  • To operate relevant IT equipment and software packages e.g. word, excel, databases and internet


St John Plessington Catholic College Voluntary Academy is an outstanding and oversubscribed 11-18 College. In 2018 the College again achieved a SSAT Award for” Exceptional student KS4 attainment” in recognition of being in the top 20% of schools nationally. It is the lead school in the Inspire Teaching Teaching School Hub. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support our teachers in delivering high quality learning. The ideal candidate will have a relevant qualification and/or previous experience working with children, although training will be given for the right person.
