Attendance Officer

• Attendance Officer – NJC Grade 6, 37 hours per week (Term Time only £27,326 -£30,977)

We are seeking an Attendance Officer to support Midpoint Centre.

Your overall aim will be to make sure that young people who attend our Centre receive the best possible education. You will be working closely with students and their families whose education is being affected by irregular attendance or absence from school due to their medical needs. 

Job Overview:

• Assessing problems and possible solutions by working closely with Midpoint Centre staff and parents/carers of young people.
• Sharing information with other parties such as teachers, mainstream schools, educational psychologists, social workers and Connexions personal advisers.
• Continue to provide the positive links that are already in place.
• Daily tracking and monitoring of each individual student who is on roll at the Braybrook Centre. This includes pupils accessing the Hub and Gold Outreach services.
• Tracking pupils who go missing or attendance becomes a major concern.
• Promoting child safety in line with the Children's Act, and contributing to child protection and safeguarding procedures.
• To complete weekly spotlight posters and termly and annual data tracker/reports.

Applicants will be expected to have:

1. Experience of working with a team of staff who support young people with SEMH and medical needs .
2. A proven track record of developing systems and processes within SIMS.
3. Evidence of excellent ICT skills and a willingness to develop their skills further.
4. A proven track record of good communication and organisation.
