We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and organised individual to take a key role in providing audio and AV technical support across Bedales’ three schools including the Bedales Olivier Theatre and Rock Studio.
The ideal candidate will have experience of setting up and breaking down audio and AV equipment in a variety of locations, along with a working knowledge of digital sound consoles and programmable lighting desks. The post holder will be responsible for liaising with event organisers including staff, students and visiting performers/speakers to establish their needs and provide a high standard of technical support. They will be responsible for the routine maintenance of equipment and have the ability to trouble shoot hardware and software issues and be competent in hardware fixes. The ability to work independently as well as part of a team is essential, along with meeting deadlines and remaining calm in challenging or high-pressure situations. The physical nature of the role requires a level of personal fitness and a head for heights.
The hours of work will be annualised hours of 800 hours per annum. There will be a number of set calendared days during the Department Annual Operation Hours, with a minimum number of hours each week increasing at peak points around productions and performances, which will include evenings and weekends. The remainder of hours being worked as and when required between the daily operational hours of 08:00 hrs and 22:00hrs. All to be scheduled and agreed in advance.
