Currently looking for two full times workers (no contracted hours)


Bank Rate: £17.18ph


 


Career Advisor - School Engagement 


A substantial part of this role requires the candidate to establish, develop and maintain effective relationships with schools, colleges and training providers within the Liverpool City Region. The successful candidate will be required to attend external careers events across the region offering IAG to prospective applicants. Acting as an ambassador for the City of Liverpool College, the candidate will promote the wide range of courses available to study.


A key part of this role will be offering school engagement activities including application workshops, group sessions and college visits. The suitable candidate will hold a level 4 qualification in information, advice and guidance or equivalent. They will also have experience working in a careers, education or IAG setting and have the ability to develop effective relationships with partner organisations.  


Level 6 guidance qualification ( Desirable )


Level 4 in Careers Advice and Guidance ( or equivalent )


 


Career Advisor 


The City of Liverpool College are currently seeking two experienced Careers Advisors to work within the Careers Advice and Guidance Team. The purpose of the role is to support in the delivery of the colleges career programme, contribute to student progression and retention, and support college recruitment. The successful candidate will deliver one to one information, advice and guidance to current students and college applicants. In addition they will be required to plan and deliver high quality career related group sessions. Other duties include responding to referrals from college staff, supporting students with applications to higher education, and attending college open events. The successful post holder will work closely with curriculum and support staff to deliver a service that meets the needs of all students and clients. An ability to work in a fast paced environment, have a flexible approach and communicate effectively with a diverse range of learners is required.


A relevant level 6 careers guidance qualification or equivalent is essential, and an understanding of career guidance frameworks, including the Gatsby Benchmarks is desired. The Careers Advice and Guidance Team are currently based across all college centres and the post holder will be required to work across all sites.

Opened in 1992 after being formed from a number of colleges in the city we now have 5 locations situated in the heart of Liverpool. Currently the college serves more than a third of all 16-18 year olds in Liverpool, and educates almost 12,000 learners a year. In 2018 the college achieved a pass rate of 99.6% beating the national average of 97.6% for a-level results. Within this year as well we had a 100% pass rate in modern languages.

However, the college itself is not just facts and figures. The mission statement of provide high quality skills and education by delivering opportunities for growth to all people and business of the Liverpool City region, shows inclusivity and a community understanding. The ease in which to get here helps quite a lot to. Be it driving, buses, trains or even a ferry you are never short of options. 

Being that working/living in Liverpool does offer a wide range of experiences to have. Historical buildings like the Bombed out church, Royal court theatre house or even a hidden gem like the Bluecoat School lane which boasts being the oldest building in Liverpool. The Beatles museum is a popular place to explore the band and possible find bits out about them you might not have known. Or if just unwinding and relaxing there are multiple pubs/bars, restaurants, and comedy nights to enjoy.
