The City of Liverpool College are currently looking for bank lecturers to support on an ad hoc basis. 

Temporary hours are available. 

Bank Rate: £20.16ph

We are currently looking for lecturers within our Expressive Arts & Media School 

 

The College's Arts Centre campus, based in the thriving Knowledge Quarter, is home to its Expressive Arts and Media Academy, boasting state-of-the-art, industry standard facilities and technology, where students gain real-world skills for the performance and production world. The school aspires to achieving excellence in teaching and learning through innovative and excellent practice within an exciting and developing specialist subject area. All staff are expected to create effective and stimulating learning opportunities for all students through high quality teaching, learning and assessment.

As a bank worker you would be expected to be aware of national developments in the subject areas which include one of the following: Media and Production Skills, Dance, Acting, Music Production or Performance. 

You will contribute to achieving excellence in teaching and learning through innovative and excellent practice. You will be expected to create effective and stimulating learning opportunities for all students through high quality teaching, learning and assessment.

Enthusing students by making the subject content relevant and current with a strong link to employers and the local economy. You will be required to monitor each student’s academic performance and provide feedback for improvements, supervise, and motivate students to achieve their academic and personal goals.

We offer a range of courses including L1 to L4 UAL courses. There are also plans in the future to develop T- Levels in this area. Our cohort is a mixture of 16–18-year olds and adult learners.

Essential

  • Teaching, leaning and assessment experience.

Desirable

  • Experience of teaching in a further education environment.
  • Experience of working in industry within your specialist field.

Opened in 1992 after being formed from a number of colleges in the city we now have 5 locations situated in the heart of Liverpool. Currently the college serves more than a third of all 16-18 year olds in Liverpool, and educates almost 12,000 learners a year. In 2018 the college achieved a pass rate of 99.6% beating the national average of 97.6% for a-level results. Within this year as well we had a 100% pass rate in modern languages.

However, the college itself is not just facts and figures. The mission statement of provide high quality skills and education by delivering opportunities for growth to all people and business of the Liverpool City region, shows inclusivity and a community understanding. The ease in which to get here helps quite a lot to. Be it driving, buses, trains or even a ferry you are never short of options. 

Being that working/living in Liverpool does offer a wide range of experiences to have. Historical buildings like the Bombed out church, Royal court theatre house or even a hidden gem like the Bluecoat School lane which boasts being the oldest building in Liverpool. The Beatles museum is a popular place to explore the band and possible find bits out about them you might not have known. Or if just unwinding and relaxing there are multiple pubs/bars, restaurants, and comedy nights to enjoy.
