John Leggott College’s (JLC) extended opportunity programme is growing year on year, offering exciting opportunities to give the students a competitive edge. We have also been shortlisted for college of the year for our extended opportunity experience.

We are committed to providing the students with an extensive and varied range of activities and as part of the extended opportunity programme we are looking to appoint a Basketball Coach on a part-time basis. We are currently in the AOC (Association of Colleges) League and Cup and playing fixtures home and away.

The College has excellent sporting facilities including extensive playing fields, floodlit multi-use games area, gymnasium and Sports Hall with multi-gym.  We are also fortunate in that there is an astro turf pitch and 3G ¾ pitch less than a mile from the College site that we use regularly.

John Leggott College is a mixed, selective, non-denominational, general further education college situated in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire. It is a 16-plus institution based on a single modern campus close to the town centre, with good access to surrounding rural areas. There are around 1,700 learners at the college, between the ages of 16-19, studying a range of academic and vocational courses.

The college was founded in 1958 as John Leggott Grammar School. The sixth form was established in 1968 in the midst of a Scunthorpe education reorganisation.
