Job overview
Orchardside School is a purpose-built pupil referral unit for 11-16 year olds who have been permanently excluded or who are at risk of being excluded from mainstream education. We believe that all children, whatever their starting point, have the right to be heard, understood and to be hopeful of their future.
We are seeking to appoint an innovative, enthusiastic and skilled person to join our successful school. The role involves supporting students' behaviour for learning, working alongside and supporting senior and middle leaders with daily operations and building strong impactful relationships with students, parents and carers. The role is pivotal in the school and requires you to be high profile around it. Candidates must be solution focused, adaptable and hard working.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is educated to GCSE level in English (Grade A-C) or equivalent.
- Has the relevant skills and abilities of working in a support role in an educational setting.
- Has the relevant skills and abilities of working with students who have a range of challenging needs.
- Has the ability to communicate clearly and effectively both in oral and written formats.
- Are able to use ICT effectively.
- Puts the student at the heart of everything they do.
- Would like to work as part of a team, sharing excellent practice and learning from others.
- Is committed to the moral, social, cultural and spiritual development of children.
- Has resilience and a well-developed sense of humour.
