We are seeking a confident, resilient and highly organised Behaviour Manager to join our pastoral team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting young people, promoting positive behaviour and helping students successfully re-engage with learning.

About the role

As Behaviour Manager, you will oversee our internal behaviour support room, providing a calm, structured environment for students who have been removed from lessons following inappropriate behaviour. Your role will be to help students reflect on their actions, repair relationships and develop the strategies needed to return successfully to the classroom.

  • Promote positive behaviour through restorative conversations and reflective practice.

  • Work with students to identify barriers to learning and implement appropriate behaviour strategies.

  • Liaise with teaching staff regarding student progress and reintegration into lessons.

  • Maintain accurate behaviour records and contribute to monitoring and reporting.

  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers where appropriate.

  • Work collaboratively with pastoral, safeguarding and SEND teams to support students with additional needs.

  • Contribute to the development of a positive school culture where all students feel safe, respected and able to succeed.

We are looking for someone who

  • Has experience of working with young people, ideally within a secondary school or similar setting.

  • Can remain calm, professional and resilient in challenging situations.

  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Can build positive, respectful relationships with students, families and colleagues.

  • Understands behaviour management strategies and restorative approaches.

  • Is organised, flexible and able to prioritise effectively.

  • Shares our commitment to inclusion, high expectations and ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed.

We can offer

  • A welcoming and supportive staff team.

  • Opportunities for professional development and training.

  • A school committed to staff wellbeing.

  • The opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people every day.

  • A beautiful North Cornwall location with a strong sense of community.
