Bales College is a small, inclusive Independent Secondary School in West London catering to students aged 11–19. We are seeking a committed and proactive Behaviour Officer to join our pastoral and SEN teams, supporting students who face behavioural, emotional, or social barriers to learning.
Key Responsibilities:
· Manage and de-escalate behavioural incidents in line with the school's Behaviour Policy.
· Supervise students temporarily removed from lessons.
· Work closely with teachers to support behaviour management strategies in the classroom.
· Deliver targeted interventions with individual students or small groups to promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
· Maintain records of behaviour incidents and interventions to support pattern analysis and action planning.
· Support the safeguarding and wellbeing of students, reporting concerns in line with policy.
· Work collaboratively with the SENDCo to support pupils with EHCPs.
· Support restorative conversations and reintegration plans following incidents
The Ideal Candidate Will:
· Have previous experience in a behaviour support, youth work, pastoral, or teaching assistant role.
· Understand trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming approaches to behaviour management.
· Be calm, firm, and respectful, able to build trust with pupils.
· Work well as part of a multidisciplinary team (including LSAs, counsellors, and therapists).
· Have a clear commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding.

About Bales College
Bales College is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational independent secondary school with sixth form situated in West London. Many students join after starting secondary education elsewhere, and there are a number of international students as part of the school community. A smaller than average size for a secondary school, the school will provide 123 places for secondary school students between the ages of 11-18, when fully subscribed.
The college was founded as the Modern Tutorial College in 1966. The school under its current name was first registered in 1989 at its current location as a co-educational school.
