Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are 3 months experience working within a similar setting.


Contract dates 

The contract will start asap and go on for the remainder of the academic year.


Vision for Education are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and creative Behaviour Support Assistant. Working at a school in Grimsby, this is a varied role that will require flexibility and a can-do attitude. Starting asap, this is a part-time, long term position, that could be made permanent for the right candidate.


The role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a committed Behaviour Support Assistant to make a difference to pupils lives and their experience of education, especially those who have become disengaged from education. The successful Behaviour Support Assistant will be required to work on a 1:1 basis with Key Stage 3 students, assisting pupils in overcoming barriers to learning and dealing with behavioural issues.  You will be required to assist with 1:1 tutoring across English, Maths and Science up to GCSE Level.

Requirements

To be considered for the Behaviour Support Assistant position, you will:

  • Have experience working with either with small groups or 1:1 with students who may demonstrate challenging behaviour and who may have Special Educational Needs. 
  • Be able to provide a safe and positive learning environment and de-escalate any threatening or aggressive behaviour. 
  • Mentor and engage with the students, successfully delivering specifically designed educational packages. 
  • Assist with 1:1 tutoring at a Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 Level
