Sheffield Park Academy is seeking to appoint a Behaviour Support Lead. 

The successful individual will complement our existing hardworking and motivational Pastoral Team and support our students to model positive behaviour and be a key figure in ensuring academy standards are upheld by all. The successful candidate will have a key role in maintaining high standards of behaviour around the academy; our mission statement is to create Sheffield’s influential young leaders of tomorrow and you will play a key role in shaping the environment to help students achieve their ambitions while also changing the life paths of those students at risk of exclusion. This role would suit someone who has high expectations, strong relationships with students and the ability to motivate and inspire students of all backgrounds.

Main duties will include:

 

·        Establish good relationships with students, acting as a role model.

·        Attend to the students’ individual needs and implement related programmes including social, health, physical and welfare matters.

·        To participate in meetings with parents/carers and students in matters relating to student attendance and behaviour.

·        Attend home visits to discuss attendance and behaviour issues with parents/carers and students.

·        Actively promote good attendance and behaviour and implement systems of praise, recognition and encouragement for good attendance and behaviours.

·        Supporting initiatives to increase student attendance.

·        Assist with activities to engage with the local community including parents and young people.

 

The successful candidate will:


·        Have high expectations for student behaviour and achievement and a presence with students.

·        Be both authoritative and approachable and have excellent people skills.

·        Be a team player.

·        Have sound knowledge of Microsoft Office package.

·        Be resilient in following the academy’s Behaviour Policy.

·        Have a fundamental belief in the power of education to enable students to achieve anything they set their minds to.
