Job overview

Applications are invited from suitably experienced staff to manage the learning environment in our Reflection Room.

You will:

• have a passion for working with students who have barriers to their learning which are mainly based in behaviour issues - and knowledge of how to overcome them

• have a proven track record of working with students to improve their outcomes by managing their behavioural responses

• have the credibility and experience to run our Reflection Room and work alongside staff to reintegrate students into the classroom

• have excellent communication skills

Although candidates do not need to have specific Behaviour intervention training, they must articulate a strategic vision for the future development of our provision; have a firm commitment to inclusion; and confidence in their ability to relate to, and work effectively with, teaching and support staff in all areas of the school. They also need to demonstrate their ability to form positive relationships with students, parents and carers and external agencies.

We will:

• ensure you are fully supported in your role

• provide appropriate professional development.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

An enhanced DBS disclosure is required for this post.

About Coombe Dean School

As a school, we have much to be proud of. We work hard at fostering positive relationships with pupils and families alike and this supports a safe and calm learning environment for our pupils. We value the consistency and transparency of a very simple behaviour system that is built around mutual respect and learning how to get things right rather than being told what you have done wrong. The strong pastoral provision supports our pupils throughout their education journey, starting from transition from primary school and through to employment, further education and training.
