Grade: HC6 SCP 11 – 19  (24,054- 27,852 pro rata)

Kingstone High School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our team in a new role.  The Behaviour Support role will encompass behaviour and mentoring support for our most vulnerable students, primarily students having difficulty accessing the curriculum and those in danger of suspension.

The successful candidate will build respectful relationships with staff, students, families and other stakeholders in order to secure their trust and engagement and communicate with students and parents about positive resolutions to any learning barriers.

This position will support Heads of Year in ensuring that records are kept up to date, and that the appropriate letters are sent consistently and in accordance with the behaviour policy.

The member of staff appointed to this position would support on-call needs when required. They will need to be able to work effectively with challenging individuals and situations and will effectively with identified students to reduce repeat behaviours.

The ability to communicate appropriately and relate well with young people and adults is essential. Excellent numeracy, literacy skills and I.C.T. skills sufficient to advance students' learning are necessary for this position. Appropriate training and professional development will be provided for the successful candidate.

Kingstone High School is a mixed, mainstream, non-denominational, secondary school in Hereford. It caters to students aged 11 to 16 and has approximately pupils 650 enrolled.

Kingstone High School converted to an academy in August 2011. It’s now part of the Kingstone Academy Trust alongside Kingstone and Thruxton Primary School. It was previously administered by Herefordshire Council but still continues to coordinate with it for admissions.
