Swiss Cottage School is an all through school for pupils aged 2 to 19 with special educational needs. We are in the London Borough of Camden. There are 260 pupils across our Lower and Upper School. We have 5 curriculum pathways that are needs-led to promote aspirational holistic development for our talented pupils.

The profile of our pupils has changed over the last 5 years with an increase in pupils identified with complex layered needs. Our Semi-formal curriculum pathway is the largest in the school with 55% of the school following this life-skills led curriculum.

The school has developed a whole school 'Trauma Informed Practice' approach for classroom teaching, followed with a whole school 'Positive Behaviour Support' model for classroom behaviour engagement that is built on our long-term commitment to positive behaviour strategies.

The school is establishing a core team of 'Behaviour Mentors' alongside this classroom level provision for higher tier provision.

We are recruiting for a Lead Coordinator who is:

  • Passionate about the role of mentors in supporting pupils when they are not at a point of regulation
  • Committed to the PBS Positive Behaviour Support model and core principles
