There has never been a more exciting time to join Ashington Academy. Recently rated ‘Good’ in all areas by Ofsted in March 2022, our school has undergone a remarkable transformation in recent years, and we are extremely proud to be recognised to be providing a high quality education to the children of this south Northumberland community.

We are now taking the next steps in our ambitious journey, continuing to ensure that all students are able to thrive academically, socially and in their wider personal development.

We have highly committed staff and a strong and enthusiastic governing body. Parents are very supportive of the school. We have a thriving programme of extra-curricular activities and adult education. Many of our students are qualified sports leaders through the Junior, Community and Higher Sports Leadership Awards. We regularly have charity fundraising events and have a lot of fun in the process of raising thousands of pounds for deserving causes.

About the North East Learning Trust (NELT)

The trust is made up of seven secondary schools (including four sixth forms), four primary schools, a teacher training provider, North East SCITT, a national Research School and a National Teaching School Hub.
