St. Edward’s is seeking an experienced Billing Manager to play a key role in the School’s Accounts Department, taking responsibility for fee billing and ensuring that bank transactions are accurately recorded.

The Accounts Department, located within the Bursary, deals with all the School’s financial matters, including the issue of termly accounts to parents, collecting fees, making payments to suppliers and payroll processing. 

The Billing Manager is responsible for raising fee bills relating to the School’s 800+ pupils.  The School raises bills with a value c. £12m before the start of each of the three terms in the academic year.

Responsibilities will include;

  • Raising termly bills and liaising with parents to resolve any queries
  • Ensuring final invoices are raised appropriately and acceptance deposits are refunded
  • Reconciling recharge accounts and cross charge to pupils or departments as appropriate
  • Billing of Music, Speech and Drama and Dance lessons
  • Posting billings related receipts to relevant accounts
  • Reconciling the School’s bank account
  • Preparing banking for various St Edward’s School accounts

The ideal candidate will be AAT qualified or possess equivalent experience of working in the role of finance manager, bookkeeper or similar. They will also need a good knowledge and understanding of billing processes and systems and cash processing.

Previous experience of working with an accounting software package such as Sage, WBCS, or iFinance is equally important.
